Artist: Roger Evans ...An architect who wanted to design buildings in the Frank Lloyd Wright tradition - who wanted to work outside th elines, in other words - for many years Roger made his living as a draftsman, translating architectural designs into three-dimension illustrations. As an escape, he turned to humorous sculpture. By placing a little boy wearing a ten-gallon Stetson on the back of a Pony painted to look like a Southwestern landscape, and adding wheels to the base and a cord with a ball at the end, Roger has transformed his Painted Pony into a child's pull toy.

The Trail of Painted Ponies has changed the way the world sees and collects art.
The Trail of Painted Ponies began in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2000 as a popular Public Art Exhibition that invited the very best artists to magically transform life-size horses into glorious works of art. These stunning Ponies enchanted thousands of people and at auction generated close to one million dollars for philanthropic organizations. Today these exquisitely handcrafted and hand-decorated figurines, replicas of the artists original works of art, have become a Worldwide Treasured Art collectible series.
