Description
Albert Pick Restaurant Ware -Individual Teapot
PERE MARQUETTE
Railroad /Ferry LOGO
"At various times
between 1897 and 1947
, the Pere Marquette operated a total of 13 ferries on Lake Michigan, running between
Ludington
, Mich. and Milwaukee, Manitowoc and Kewaunee, Wis. These ships were then an efficient means of bypassing the congested rail yards in Chicago"
Up for your consideration is this magnificent individual Teapot for passengers of the historic Pere Marquette Railroad/Ferry Line. It is hallmarked on the bottom "Albert Pick Co. Inc, CHICAGO, Vitrified China"
As pictured, the teapot features a rendering of a Ship/Ferry with Pere Marquette lettering in a beautiful cobalt blue. Despite its age/history it appears in excellent vintage condition.. The coloring is vibrant, there are no chips, cracks, signs of crazing and it has the original lid!
More about it...
This is a solid sturdy little teapot. The size is 6" across (tip of spout to end of handle) x 3 1/4" high. The weight is approx. one pound.
I believe the teapot is rather scarce, and seems a wonderful possibility for Collectors of Railroad, Ship, Hotel/Restaurant Dinnerware, Advertising, Transportation, Teapots, Cobalt, Shipping, Chicago, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin Memorabilia, etc.
Take a look and as always, feel free to ask if you have any questions. Also, please see the other items I am currently listing. I am happy to combine shipping if you are the winner of more than one auction. I generally ship w/in the same to one business day upon receipt of payment.
Thank you and happy bidding!
