The pot is a familiar ballish shape with a spout and handle, and a lid...reminds one of the song that says "short and stout". Describes the classic teapot to a T. In England, one uses a crocheted or quilted cover called a cosy to keep the pot hot. Better teapots have a steam hole in the lid to prevent condensation buildup, which can wet or stain the tablecloth. Some metal teapots have wooden handles, so that the handle will not burn the hand that lifts it to pour. The teapot offered here is a special one. It was made in England, and is labeled Swan Brand. This style of aluminum teapot was made in different shapes and with different capacities and in different sizes. This teapot has a 2 cup capacity and a wooden handle on the body of the pot and on the lid. The design is florals and swirls.
